These last 2 off season have been very successful if I do say so myself! Ruston Webster has been quietly collecting the right pieces to rebuild the Titans. Via the draft and free agency and if Jake Locker can build off the things he was doing at the beginning of last season and do it for a full 16 game’s look out colts. And I believe the coaching staff they have in place to go along with the talent Webster acquired for this roster will be very competitive and I look forward to this years draft to see what else the Titans add to it’s depth chart. Dexter McCluster is an exciting player out in space and him being a pass catcher out of the backfield gives the Titans the ability to manipulate a defense with the likes of Kendall Wright and Delanie Walker working the middle of the field and Justin Hunter streaking up the sidelines or Nate Washington working that comeback on the opposite side of the field, should excite Titans fans. And on the other side of the ball Jurrell Casey is coming off a 10.5 sack season as a D tackle. Only problem is that after his most productive season the team is switching from a 4 man front to a 3 man front. But as disruptive as Casey is I don’t see it being a long adjustment switching to a 3-4 end. I see Al woods, Mookie Johnson and Sammie Hill in competition for time at the Nose and Ropati lining back up as that natural 3-4 right end he has played most of his career as. But with all that being said im exited to see how Zach brown transfers from a will olb to the will inside backer in a 34, also how will derrick morgan look standing up in space as a backer. Kameron Wimbley gets to go back to being that 34 olb he was before he got to Tennessee and possibly increase his production in a more comfortable role and not to mention that we will see how a guy who is more of a will inside backer transfer into a mike inside backer in new addition Wesley Woodyard and he is joined by former broncos teammate Shaun Phillips who may I add had 10.5 sacks his self last year his first time at 4-3 d end who gets to return to that 34 olb job himself he played well at for a decade of nfl seasons. The wild card is akeem Ayers he gets to be in a similar role he was in, in college standing up rushing the passer he had a knee issue last year and I’d like him to bounce back this year playing for his old ucla coordinator lou spannos. And in the most consistent part of the titans defense last year the secondary the titans return all but one starter and that’s verner who I wish luck in tampa. I look forward to seeing coty & blidi fighting for the spot opposite of j mac and im glad pollard came back I believe this defense is his and the locker room needed his voice and leadership and championship resume. Overall I like the titans roster even with the questions on defense cause I believe in Whisenhunt and the staff he has put together with great nfl minds working together sky’s the limit for this team.
